WHAT A HUNTING SEASON THIS HAS BEEN!
ANOTHER GOOD DUCK SEASON, BUT I HAVEN'T HEARD MUCH ABOUT DEER. LAKE MARY HUNTING WAS PLAGUED BY THE HIGH WATER OF THE LAST YEAR. WE HAVE SOME AVID HUNTERS THAT NOTHING CAN STOP AND THEY HAD FUN.

"Black Friday, Day of the Dead, and Dead Duck"

That was heard quite a bit around Lake Mary over the opening weekend of the 2010-11. The hunters gave the dogs and the ducks a good work out. One of the best opening weekends in years.
12-9-2010 The Mallard Mafia and the Duck Commanders continue their quest of the green heads. The lake smells like smoke and sounds like thunder as the "green rain" continues. The "Smokehouse Gang" declares themselves the Champs of the Season. The pictures above tell the story of a great season. Click on the pictures to enlarge.

The first of the 2010-11 season

A few teal and hoping for more.

The girls around here are just as happy to be in the woods as on the water. Fall is here and so are the squirrel hunters.

A few pictures taken recently and others from years gone by.
There are the ducks, the dogs, the boys and the men that hunt (and a few girls and ladies). All necessary for the sport. It's more like a religion or obsession with some of them. We're waiting for the next duck season for new pictures.

In the first picture above ducks, ducks, ducks were flying across the Homochitto River over Lake Mary Planting. This was during high water times a few winters ago.

AND THEN THERE ARE THE DEER HUNTERS
All these deer were taken in the Lake Mary area.

There are the squirrel hunters, turkey hunters and hog hunters.
