After being flooded in '97, Paul Stockstill decided to raise his camp 7 more feet. They got it done, finally.

Marlin and Treva Reid were lucky enough to get some wonderful pictures of eagles that nest in the Lake Mary area. We haven't seen them in a couple of years. We're glad they've returned and are raising (we think) two young eaglets. You can see one adult perched on a limb, one eaglet in the nest and the other adult flying in with a fish in its talons. Marlin says he thinks that more than one eaglet was in the nest.

SCOUTS EARN BADGES AT LAKE MARY

Troop 61of St. Francisville came to the lake on Friday, September 8 and Saturday, September 9 on a camping trip. The worked on merit badges in fishing, archery and cooking. After spending the night sleeping in tents, the boys rose at sunrise to cook a delicious Mountain Man Country Breakfast consisting of eggs, sausage, potatoes, cheese and spiced up with Tony's Seasoning. (I should have gotten there earlier.) They cleaned up, packed up and left around noon, tired, but happy. The scout troop included Ty Beauchamp, Cody Brumfield, Justin Deshantelles, Dillon Guillot, Andrew Loyacano, Travis Odom, Christopher Riente, Jarrod Standridge, Kagan Walsh and Beau Wheeler. The scout leader is John Standridge. (Blame any misspellings or omissions on him.) Hope you guys had a good time.
